Hagley Park

On-leash required

Dogs are welcome here on a leash.

Council classification: On-Leash Area

Rule details

Dogs must be on a short leash on all sealed paths in Hagley Park, and the stretches of gravel path that run alongside Deans Ave, Moorhouse Ave, Hagley Ave (in South Hagley Park); and alongside the river, from Harper Ave to Armagh Stree bridge (in North Hagley Park). Dogs must be leashed due to the high recreational mixed use of the paths, and high commuter cycle use of the paths. Dogs may be under effective control in the rest of hagley Park. (Council control: Leashed on Paths/Under Effective Control.)
